Curated reading list on building a culture of care
Below is a selection of pertinent articles and reports from MMF's research archive, which includes a timeline, bibliography, and the Art Museum Unions Index.
As evidenced by the existence of MMF and other similar projects, many in the field have recognized that museum structures and internal cultures need to change. But what does a more relational, human-centered, and caring museum look like? Enacting new structures and internal cultures in museums demands that we first be able to imagine them. The articles collected below provide different perspectives and examples of how museums are currently being re-thought and re-shaped. We invite you to join the authors in imagining new possibilities for museum structures and internal cultures––possibilities grounded in care.
